Around the World?

For several years we have received advertisements in the mail from National Geographic and from various cruise companies that offer exotic adventures and very long cruises.  And for all those years, my husband had joked around about going on one of them.  So this past January when he asked if I wanted to go on a 4 and 1/2 month cruise, I said no – never imagining that he was serious this time.

This cruise had several places that were on his bucket list.  So after much discussion and negotiations about room size, we signed up.  And that was the start of the adventure.  We decided that we were going to study every place that was on the itinerary and include the learning as part of our “trip.”  We were very aware that just about anything could happen in a year that would prevent the trip.  Our trip to Russia fell through because Hurricane Harvey closed all the highways and all the airports where we live two days before we were supposed to leave.  Fortunately, our neighborhood became a little island in the sea of Harvey’s 50+ inches of rain, but we couldn’t go anywhere.

What is involved in living with no address for four and a half months? Before we leave on the trip, I will layout what planning we did. I just hope it all works!
